Morganton Rotary Club & Lowes Hardware Sponsor Saw Purchase
The Morganton Rotary Club teamed up with Lowes Hardware to donate to Burke County Habitat for Humanity a much-needed Power Miter Saw and Stand. This is an item the "Wednesday Warriors" have had their eye on for a long time.
The "Wednesday Warriors" are a long-standing group of volunteers that are the heart of the Burke County, NC Habitat for Humanity. Wednesday Warriors, as their name implies, spend every Wednesday during the building season building homes for qualified Habitat for Humanity homeowners in Burke County.
Habitat is looking for individual volunteers and teams from civic organizations, churches and businesses to help build this season (April – September).
To become a Habitat for Humanity volunteer or if you are interested in learning how to become a Habitat Family, call the Burke County Habitat for Humanity office at (828) 437-0370.
New tools and equipment are an essential part of homebuilding and specialty items such as the saw save time and make for a more perfect home.
If you have used or new working tools that you would be willing to donate, contact The Habitat Restore on East Meeting Street in Morganton, NC. Donated tools and equipment are used as needed in homebuilding or may be sold in the Restore. All profits from the Restore go toward building new homes in Burke County.
